"The land of a thousand hills", located in the middle of the continent of Africa. Rwanda is a beautiful country, overflowing with bountiful terraces on hilly terrain. In recent years, the country has undergone significant economic development. Often called a "miracle of Africa," Rwanda, has attracted attention as a country where the ICT sector is well established. That said, 70% of the population are farmers, which makes Rwanda a predominantly agricultural country.
Our macadamia nut production, processing and export business partners with farmers who farm in various places, regardless of the size of their farms. We would like to contribute to the economic development of this country as a third export industry, following traditional coffee and tea, by developing our business throughout the country.
Macadamia trees take 5 years from seedling to planting to fruiting until they produce fruit, and an additional 15 years to reach peak harvest. The amount of time it takes to bear fruit is almost as long as raising a family. The process is important to farmers in the same way family is important to us. Moreover, it takes eight months from flowering to harvesting. Macadamia nuts are certainly fruits grown with time and effort. The fruit that is brought up carefully and harvested in this way will be exported as crispy-texture nuts with a special creamy flavour.
We have been active in this area for many years. Through our business, working alongside farmers in Rwanda, we are all prepared to contribute to the development of the macadamia industry and economy in Rwanda.
